WEEKNUM

Returns the week number in the year for a given date.

Syntax

WEEKNUM(date, [return_type])

Arguments

• date: The date for which you want to find the week number.
• return_type: [Optional] A number that determines which day the week begins on.
  • 1 or omitted: Week begins on Sunday
  • 2: Week begins on Monday

Example

WEEKNUM("2025-03-02") → Returns the week number of March 2, 2025
WEEKNUM(A1, 2) → Returns the week number for the date in cell A1, using Monday as the first day of the week
